The feather pump is used to transport feathers from the poultry plucking process in slaughter plants. The feathers must be transported together with water.

OPERATION

The basic construction element is a single-stage centrifugal pump including a motor. The free-flowing, single-sided open impeller has blades arranged on a disc. The impeller disc is offset from the flow space into a cavity formed in the pump casing, which further expands the free flow space between the vane edges on the impeller face and the casing liner. The feather transport pump can be fitted to existing concrete or steel tanks, as well as with a free-standing tank that can be supplied with the pump. The feathers and the water are transported to the tank via a drainage channel, which is then pumped through a pipeline with a diameter of Ø125 – Ø250 (depending on the type of pump) to the feather separator, where the water is pre-separated from the feathers.
