The washer-cleaner is used to remove food contents and fat from the surface of previously dissected stomachs.

OPERATION

Stomachs are manually fed into the centre of the device where they are individually passed between rubber fingers. There, the stomachs are cleaned of fat and food content and rinsed with water. After these operations, the stomachs are moved to the dump. The quality of the cleaning and the efficiency of the machine depends on the size of the stomachs, how greasy they are and how much water is fed in. The washer is adapted for use with a stomach cleaner. The stomachs can be dumped onto the cleaning machine’s countertop, where the next operation – removal of the keratinised skin from inside the stomach – takes place.
