GASTROINTESTINAL PUMP
Product description
The gut pump is used to transport the post-slaughter packs from the evisceration hall to their storage area.
OPERATION
The basic element of the construction is a peristatic pump with a drive, an inlet basket and a system of pipes for waste transport. The drive mechanism of the pump causes the rotor equipped with two alternately mounted rollers to rotate. The intestine is then compressed by the rollers, causing the discharge side to be cut off from the suction side. The expansion of the intestine into its original shape (on the suction side), just behind the rollers, creates a vacuum which sucks in the waste collected in the intake basket. The aspirated waste, contained in the intestine between the rollers, is pushed towards the discharge pipe.
As a result of the pressure displaced by the roller on the discharge side, the waste is forced into the pipe system and transported to its destination. The pump’s effectiveness is based on the elasticity of the bowel, i.e. the bowel compressed by the rollers must return to its original shape.
