The head cutter is designed to automatically cut the arteries in necks of poultry suspended on conveyor shackles, immediately after stunning with an electric stunner.
The poultry heads, suspended on slaughter conveyor stirrups, are placed on guides which guide the bird’s head onto the cutting knives. The incisions are made with rotary knives whose positioning (and depth of the cut) can be easily adjusted. Due to the varying sizes of poultry being slaughtered, constant monitoring of the machine is necessary.
